San Francisco, CA — August 14, 2026: The International Bulk Wine & Spirits Show (IBWSS) has announced “The Business of Better Sourcing” as the official theme for its 2027 San Francisco edition.

Taking place on July 27 & 28, 2027, at the South San Francisco Conference Center, the event will mark the 10th edition of IBWSS San Francisco.

The 2027 theme reflects the growing importance of sourcing as a strategic business function. For retailers, importers, distributors, hospitality groups and brand owners, successful sourcing is no longer only about finding available wine or spirits. It is about identifying the right product opportunity, sourcing the right liquid, selecting reliable production partners, controlling costs, and developing products that can succeed commercially.

“The Business of Better Sourcing” will bring together the complete beverage sourcing and product-development ecosystem under one roof.

A Broader Approach to Beverage Sourcing

IBWSS San Francisco 2027 will focus on the complete process of taking a beverage product from concept to market, including:

- Bulk wine and bulk spirits sourcing
- Contract winemaking and distilling
- Private-label and control-label development
- Custom blending, bottling and production
- Branded product development
- RTD and alternative-format production
- Packaging and label solutions
- Compliance, logistics and supply-chain services
- Importing, distribution and route-to-market support

The show will connect wineries, distilleries, bulk suppliers and contract producers with retailers, importers, distributors, hospitality buyers, brand owners and entrepreneurs looking to develop commercially relevant products.

Why Better Sourcing Matters

As competition increases and consumer preferences change more quickly, beverage businesses need to make better decisions about what they source, how products are made, and which partners they work with.

The right sourcing strategy can help a business:

- Improve product quality
- Protect and increase margins
- Respond faster to consumer trends
- Reduce development and production risks
- Create differentiated products
- Strengthen private-label and control-label programs
- Improve speed to market
- Build more reliable long-term supply partnerships

“Better sourcing directly influences product quality, pricing, differentiation and profitability,” said Sid Patel, CEO and Founder of Beverage Trade Network and IBWSS. “For the 10th edition of IBWSS San Francisco, we want to help buyers and suppliers look at sourcing as a complete business strategy—not simply as a purchasing function.”

“The 2027 show will help attendees identify new opportunities, understand what buyers need, and meet the production and supply partners who can turn those opportunities into commercially successful products.”

A Strong Focus on Private Labels and Control Labels

Private-label and control-label development will be one of the central pillars of the 2027 event.

Retailers, restaurant groups, hotels, importers and distributors are increasingly using exclusive products to improve margins, strengthen customer loyalty and differentiate their portfolios. This is creating new opportunities for wineries, distilleries and contract producers capable of delivering custom products at the required quality, price and volume.

IBWSS will help buyers meet:

- Private-label wine and spirits producers
- Contract wineries and distilleries
- Bulk liquid suppliers
- Bottlers, blenders and co-packers
- Packaging and design companies
- Compliance and logistics partners
- Importers and distribution specialists

The event will also help suppliers better understand buyer expectations relating to minimum order quantities, pricing, production capacity, consistency, packaging, certifications, logistics and commercial support.

A Buyer-Led 2027 Conference

The 2027 conference program will be built around the theme of better sourcing and will feature buyers, sourcing directors, retailers, importers, distributors, hospitality executives, brand owners, producers and industry experts.

Planned topics will include:

- What wine and spirits buyers will be sourcing in 2027
- Building a private label from the ground up
- The economics of private labels and control labels
- How retailers develop successful exclusive brands
- Finding the right bulk wine and spirits supply partners
- What makes a supplier buyer-ready
- Improving quality without losing margin
- The future of contract production
- Building products for retail, hospitality and e-commerce
- Using consumer data and AI to decide what to source
- Packaging, logistics and supply-chain efficiency
- Creating commercially successful products at the right price

The sessions will provide practical insights that attendees can apply to product development, supplier selection, purchasing and growth strategies.

Connecting Buyers With the Right Suppliers

IBWSS San Francisco 2027 will create more opportunities for buyers to communicate their sourcing needs and meet relevant suppliers.

Buyers will be encouraged to submit sourcing requirements covering product categories, origins, styles, price points, volumes, packaging formats and production capabilities. The IBWSS team will use these requirements to support more relevant introductions and meetings during the show.

Exhibitors will be able to present their complete capabilities, including bulk supply, private-label production, contract manufacturing, formulation, blending, bottling, canning, packaging, compliance, logistics and export support.

Celebrating Ten Editions of IBWSS San Francisco

The 2027 event will celebrate ten editions of IBWSS San Francisco and a decade of connecting the international bulk wine and spirits industry with buyers in the United States.

The anniversary edition will recognize the wineries, distilleries, buyers, producers, brokers, importers, distributors and service providers that have contributed to the development of the show.

It will also establish the direction for the next phase of IBWSS: helping the beverage industry source better, create better products and build more profitable businesses.
