Gisborne is the first place to see the new sunrise in the world.  Gisborne may best be considered what New Zealand is to the rest of the world – pristine, stunningly beautiful, bountiful and undiscovered.  Gisborne plays an iconic role in the New Zealand wine industry.   Boasting distinctive sub-regions across the river valley and foot hills, our soils are fertile yet free draining.  Combined with plentiful sunlight, and even rainfall distribution, our soils do not require irrigation – “Dry farmed” making Gisborne the most naturally sustainable region in New Zealand.

Custom wine making for clients, with the ability to supply from single vineyard sourcing from the Gisborne and Marlborough growing regions.  GroCo contracts approximately 240ha of grapes in Gisborne and 49 ha of premium Sauvignon Blanc grapes from the Waihopai Valley of Marlborough.

GroCo operates similar to a ‘The New Zealand Grower Cooperative’ model.  Offering growers direct access to retailers and the benefits of economies of scale and expertise, while conversely offering our markets direct access to growers and ‘the whole grape’, under a competitive overhead structure.

We can sell bulk, bottled, canned or private labelled product.   Wine varieties available are:
