Gibson Wine Company was established in Sanger, California is a producer of generic and varietal table wines, dessert wines, plum wines, altar wines, cooking wines, white and red grape vinegar stock and brandy. The facility consists of a winery, distillery and a bottling plant. Gibson is recognized throughout the Nation by its logo the Pheasant. The late Bob Gibson, who was founder and principal owner was a renowned bird fancier and maintained the largest privately owned collection of rare and exotic birds in the United States. In 1961 Sanger Winery Association which was a group of local growers in the Sanger area which already had an established winery supplying wines to Gibson, purchased Gibson Wine Company. The brands that continue to have name recognition are Gibson Vineyards, White Pheasant, Blossom Trail and Silverstone. Gibson is expanding it’s varietal programs and has over 30 active labels in many different sizes.
