The history of Cantina Cortecchia begins in the 1950s, when brothers Fulvio and Domenico Cortecchia set up in business as producers and traders of premium bulk wine. Today, the company is managed by the second generation of the Cortecchia family and pursues a policy that combines tradition and innovation. Cortecchia’s annual sales volume is around 45Million litres of wine distributed in Italy and in foreign markets where the demand for premium wine is constantly growing. The family vineyards cover an area of 60 hectares (150 acres) where the main grape varieties are Trebbiano, Pinot Blanc, Albana, Muscat, Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Over time Cortecchia set up contractual long term supply agreements with grape growers, grape juice- and wine suppliers in Italy, Spain, France and Hungary. Thanks to our own production and to the international supply agreements, Cortecchia can provide a wide array of fine products in bulk or in bottle - including organic- from the best Italian and European wine regions. Today the management of the company has made investments to renew the technology, the laboratory and quality control systems to meet the demands of the global wine market. The passion and love of the Emilia- Romagna wine region have motivated the Cortecchia family to create an Agroturism destination, TORRE DEL MARINO. This new venture will help develop local tourism.
