The Gancia family comes from Italy, and they were the first to produce sparkling wines in Italy in 1840. In the early 1930s, Camilo Gancia came to Argentina and decided to start the Gancia operation in Argentina. From the late 1940s and for about 15 years, Camilo planted more then 1,000 hectares of vineyards in different areas in Mendoza. Grapes from those vineyards are in our wines today. Camilo (passed away about 10yr ago) had 4 daughters who run the company these days as they represent the family as the biggest shareholder and are part of the board of directors. Bear in mind we operate in several categories apart from the wine world (RTDs, liqueurs, aperitifs, hard-seltzers, beer and high-alcohol spirits).
