For the past 12 years, Beverage Trade Network has brought together drinks professionals globally and helped them grow their businesses. With its various trade shows around the world, BTN’s goal has always been to educate, empower and help make connections for our customers so that they can grow their beverage brands and business.
Trade shows were one of the main business units of Beverage Trade Network. That changed on March 16, 2020 when we had to postpone all of our shows for 2020 to comply with COVID-19 ordinances around the world. While it was difficult to see no events in 2020, we are hopeful we will be able to execute trade shows and events in 2021.
2021 started to look promising and we hope that the US is fully vaccinated by the end of May. At this moment we are hopeful that trade shows will take place and the state and city government will permit events and set protocols to execute events safely.
At this moment, the trade show dates are set for July 27-28, 2021.
However, we will be assessing the situation once again on May 20, 2021 and will have a final decision for the remaining year on May 21, 2021.
We encourage overseas exhibitors and domestic exhibitors NOT to book hotels and airfares until we are closer to these dates and closely monitor the progress in the meantime.
In the event that we again have to postpone the show to the 2022 date due to the restrictions set by the government and covid-19 crises, all exhibitors’ credit will be carried forward to the 2022 shows.
In the event that trade shows are allowed, together with the venue, we will aim to execute trade shows with all necessary safety protocols. Some steps we have taken with the venue to ensure this are:
We await news from state and city departments to know if larger scale event gatherings will be permitted. If they are, all safety protocols will be followed stringently. In the current situation larger event gatherings are still NOT allowed.
Some of the steps we will be following at all events are:
1. No lines at the registration kiosk.
2. Pre-registration of badges online.
3. Exhibitors and visitors to show a negative Covid test or vaccine record.
4. Replace wine glasses with plastic cups.
5. No spittoons.
6. No conference.
7. Add additional room for exhibitors to enable social distancing between exhibitor tables.
8. Use of masks compulsory for exhibitors and visitors.
9. All staff to be tested for COVID before beginning work.
San Mateo County continues to make progress in its reopening of restaurants and retail shops. These venues are allowed to be open as long as they follow a prescribed set of social distancing and sanitization guidelines.
Focusing on health and safety is not new to the South San Francisco Conference Center; it is hardwired into the processes their team carries out every day. That said, when they closed the Conference Center, they knew that they would reopen to a very different environment. During their closure, they were performing a top-to-bottom assessment of their health and safety practices throughout the South San Francisco Conference Center. The result is a comprehensive health, safety and social distancing program that addresses the needs of today’s environment and is designed with a singular purpose – to help ensure the health and safety of every guest and employee while not compromising the South San Francisco Conference Center experience.

COVID-19 SAFETY PRACTICES FOR EVENTS
The Conference Center has dedicated substantial resources to ensure their staff and clients’ safety. They have implemented HaloSil Fogging technology to disinfect their spaces and equipment. HaloSil fogging technology is traditionally used in biotech and medical facilities to efficiently disinfect spaces without the use of harmful chemicals. Additionally, they have put in several hand sanitizing stations and will provide masks and gloves to their staff.
The Conference Center will provide informational signage to communicate recommendations, health alerts and guidelines from the CDC. Signage topics will include, but not be limited, to preventative steps to protect self and others, symptoms of COVID-19, social distancing best practices, and other relevant travel and health alerts. They are confident in their ability to welcome you safely back, with the personalized service you’ve always known and trusted. TOGETHER – we can do this!
1. All SSFCC Staff will be required to wear a face mask and gloves while interacting with guests.
2. All SSFCC Staff will sanitize their hands or change gloves before and after each guest interaction.
3. Face coverings are required at all times while inside the Conference Center.
4. Additional guest sanitizing stations have been added and can be found throughout the building.
5. Increased frequency of cleaning the HVAC systems and replacement of air filters throughout the building.
6. All service equipment, common surfaces, and high-touch areas (e.g., carts, stations, counters, handrails, serving trays) will be sanitized or disinfected after each use
